About The New Village Grove

The New Village Grove began in Colorado Springs on 31 JUL 2010. Starting as a Protogrove member of ADF, we began holding public rites and events at Monument Valley Park. We continue this tradition today, performing rites which honor the Gods and Spirits of our participants. The majority of our rites incorporate mythic imagery and symbols from the Indo-European family of cultures, including the ancient Celtic and Norse. However, our members venerate a wide variety of spiritual beings ranging far beyond the Indo-European sets, and we welcome any who wish to worship their spiritual allies in an atmosphere of respect and wonder.

Our grove is committed to holding rites on the equinoxes, solstices, and cross-quarters of the year; these are often called Sabbats in Wicca, or High Days in Druidry (and in some Heathen kindred groups). In our grove, we call these dates by their Irish or Norse name as a general rule, but may also identify them based on the cultural imagery we are using at that ritual: a Welsh ritual, for example, might also be called by its Welsh name for the High Day. These eight festivals are, starting on the Autumn Cross-Quarter: Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Eostre, Bealtainne, Midsummer, Lughnasadh, and Winternights.

We also hold rites and events outside of these eight High Days. These events can be public or private and nature, and encompass a wide variety of Neopagan religious purposes, from honoring specific deities to healing, and more. Check our Google Calendar and our News Blog for a full list of our scheduled events for the public.
